Jack White

"Ice Station Zebra"

Exclaim! cover star Jack White is set to release his new solo LP come the end of this week, and before Boarding House Reach arrives, he's shared another new song from the effort.

Titled "Ice Station Zebra," the track was initially conceived as a collaboration between White and JAY-Z as part of an album project that never came to fruition. The song's hip-hop leanings are hard to miss, especially when it comes to White's vocal delivery.

"I've been sneaking it under the radar and no one really notices," White told Exclaim! "I've basically been spitting lyrics in 'Icky Thump,' 'Lazaretto,' 'Black Bat Licorice' — all the way back to early White Stripes songs like 'The Big Three Killed My Baby' and 'Cannon.' I've done a lot of spoken-word delivery that people didn't really notice."

Boarding House Reach arrives Friday (March 23) through Third Man/Columbia.
