Jack White

"Freedom at 21"

Jack White previously released his song "Freedom at 21" via a quirky helium balloon stunt, and the singles soon ended up on eBay. Luckily for us, someone ripped the song to their computer and the track has now hit the internet.

This groove-based number contains dense, overlapping percussion that sounds a bit like something that might have appeared on Radiohead's The King of Limbs. This is matched with twangy riffs and Jack's R&B-flavoured, faintly rap-inspired vocals, making for what's probably the most inventive and infectious song we're heard from White's upcoming Blunderbuss so far.

Listen below, but be forewarned that this is most certainly a scratchy vinyl rip.

Blunderbuss is out on April 24 via Third Man/Columbia/XL.
