Berlin-based, Helsinki-born pop explorer Jaakko Eino Kalevi has been getting some online daps for his alluring early singles, but he's about to take his career to the next level with the arrival of his debut album.
The self-titled release is composed of 10 songs from the artist. They were recorded in various studios throughout Helsinki, and see the artist taking on the writing, performing and recording duties almost exclusively on his own. Once recording was complete, the album was mixed with Nicolas Vernhes (War on Drugs, Run the Jewels) in New York City.
A press release calls the resulting album "the most vivid portrayal yet of Jaakko's sensual world — a Technicolor and wondrous place where everything happens in its own time, and where nature and technology get along harmoniously."
