Ja Rule Gets Two Years Behind Bars over Gun Charges; 50 Cent LOLs on Twitter

There's no denying Ja Rule is having a bad day. The New York-based rapper born Jeffrey Atkins has just been sentenced with two years in prison following a conviction on a weapon charge. Back in 2007, Ja attended a Lil Wayne concert at New York's Beacon Theater. After the show, police found a pistol in the glove compartment of his Maybach.

Coincidentally, this was the same night that Wayne was arrested for his weapon charge, which resulted in his recently completed year-long jail term.

According to a ruling from the Manhattan Supreme Court, Ja Rule is now facing two years in the slammer. The maximum penalty he could have received was 3 and a half to 5 years.

The New York Daily News reports that Rule's road manager Dennis Cherry is expected to submit a no-jail plea by the end of the month. Justice Richard Carruthers is unlikely to budge from the ruling, however, and Rule will face two years in the slammer and a year and a half of post-release supervision.

One person who's having a blast with this news is 50 Cent, who has had a longstanding feud with Ja Rule. Taking to his already entertaining Twitter, 50 has been dropping hilarious digs all day.

"Come on its only 721 days stop crying. Its only 104 weeks. Wipe ya nose sucka. Be a man!!!!! Lol," he wrote, adding, "There throwing a going away party for this punk they can't even afford alcohol. there looking for sponsors know anyone. Lol." LOL indeed, Fiddy.
