Jóhann Jóhannsson Plots North American Tour, Plays Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver

BY Josiah HughesPublished Dec 11, 2009

Experimental Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson has not released much in the way of new material in 2009. His sole release this year was And in the Endless Pause There Came the Sound of Bees, a tour-only CD that was limited to 1,000 copies. Hopefully, that will change in 2010 with a new album. If not, fans can at least look forward to a North American tour.

Showing that he knows how to plan ahead, the composer has released the details for his tour plans in the first half of 2010. First, he'll play a string of shows in Belgium in February. Then, he'll spend the end of April and a good portion of May traversing North America. That trek will include Canadian stops in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Jóhannsson's last album proper was 2008's excellent Fordlandia. Here's hoping that this 2010 tour will coincide with a new album.
