The Isotopes

"Let's Go Blue Jays"

With the Toronto Blue Jays currently nesting at the top of the American League standings, baseball fever is officially sweeping across Canada. Just check out how excited Vancouver punk unit the Isotopes are. The baseball-obsessed project have just dropped a rally anthem in support of their favourite boys in blue, which has been given the cracking title of "Let's Go Blue Jays."

The track is somewhat modelled after the Ramones' "hey ho" section in "Blitzkrieg Bop," but also mixes in the digitized bleacher stomping made famous by John Fogerty's "Centerfield." This latest punky sports anthem compares the Jays' current season's run to the '92-'93 glory days, with the band ready to pop champagne bottles each time the team racks up another "W."

You can hear the Isotopes' tribute to the team down below. Here's hoping we're cranking the anthem all the way into October.
