Islands, Man Man and Modest Mouse Members' Mister Heavenly Supergroup Sign to Sub Pop

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 30, 2010

While earlier this fall, we told you about Mister Heavenly -- the new supergroup featuring Man Man vocalist Ryan Kattner (aka Honus Honus), Islands main man Nick Thorburn and Modest Mouse drummer Joe Plummer -- details were scant about their exact plans. We knew they were about to record their first full-length, but we didn't know when it would come out or who would be releasing it. Oh, what a difference a couple of months make.

The trio have finally dished some dirt on their debut, an as-yet-untitled set that will be released by Sub Pop sometime next year. Unfortunately, a tracklisting hasn't popped up yet, nor has a firm release date.

What has been revealed via a press release is that the group were "spurred on by a mutual appreciation for doo-wop and doomed love songs," and what was originally intended to be recorded as a one-off seven-inch single blossomed into a full album's worth of material.

Though there isn't much of a clue as to what will be on the record at the moment, you can catch Mister Heavenly on tour starting today (November 30) to see what all the fuss is about. Check out the dates below.
