Islands

"No Milk, No Sugar" / "Fear"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 18, 2016

Nick "Diamonds" Thorburn and Islands are doubling their fun this year by issuing two new albums. Accordingly, ahead of dropping Should I Remain Here at Sea? and Taste, the band are now plugging the new music by streaming out new tracks from each release.

After teasing Taste as the more electronic-geared release of the two, Thorburn has unleashed a stream of "No Milk, No Sugar," a slightly disco-ish piece full of rippled synths, steady backbeats and more than a few allusions to coffee drinks.

Also being previewed is "Fear," which features echo-blown, intertwining guitar parts, and a gently sung, if ominous, vocal from Thorburn ("you wake up when you die").

You'll find both streams below, while Should I Remain Here at Sea? and Taste see release May 13, ahead of the band's North American tour.
