In a new video released this morning (August 7), several new Pokémon were revealed including Obstagoon, a bipedal weasel with black and white facial markings and a lolling tongue. The features bear more than a passing resemblance to Gene Simmons' KISS look, including grey fur that looks like Simmons' shoulder pauldrons and wrist guards.
To further the similarities, Obstagoon's pre-evolved forms — new variants of pre-existing Pokémon Zigzagoon and Linoone — also feature the signature wagging tongue, along with star-like eye markings resembling KISS's Paul Stanley's "Starchild" makeup.
Neither Pokémon nor Gene Simmons have yet to weigh in on the similarities.

Obstagoon, which evolves from Galarian Linoone, is an example of a Pokémon that can only evolve from a Galarian form. https://t.co/XZdFdRtCFH pic.twitter.com/oOaCicS1qn

Galarian Linoone can reach speeds of over 60 mph and deliver devastating Tackles and Headbutts. These attacks have enough destructive force to knock a car away, but they can also throw Linoone off balance if they miss!https://t.co/UgJtNKVxtr pic.twitter.com/1POrdp8kSw

Galarian Zigzagoon is considered to be the oldest branch of the species. It has a provocative attitude and enjoys battle—though humans tend to think it's just playing. 😉https://t.co/sQypW6Uhdx pic.twitter.com/qxWgX6Rl4q
