Into It. Over It.

52 Weeks

It's rare when a concept as interesting and daunting as this also results in great art; somehow, the process that produced 52 Weeks is as unique as the music contained on this two-disc set. Evan Weiss (Damiera, the Progress, Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start) conceived Into It. Over it as a way to break out of a musical rut; over the course of a year, he would write and record a song a week. The results were posted online at the end of each week, downloaded over 300 000 times and now come in this beautifully packaged double-CD set. Ranging from gentle, subtle acoustic numbers like "Gear Isn't Expensive" to full-on Jade Tree emo-style rockers like "A Song About Your Party," this is an expansive set of songs that would be impressive with or without the novelty concept that produced them.
