Arboretum Festival
As summer festival season rolls on, Ottawa's Arboretum Festival is hosting another big music bash in the country's capital city. If you're looking for a wide range of genre performers crammed into one place, Arboretum's a good bet; the fest will host performances from noise-rock group Deerhoof, indie rockers TOPS, rapper Cadence Weapon, electro-pop act DIANA and a bunch more.
08/18-19/2017 Ottawa, ON – Rideau Pines Farm
Although his new album has been delayed a number of times since putting out a few singles last year, Beck is back on tour to bring his genre-bending tunes to the masses. The multi-instrumentalist will be gracing stages across the Prairies this week, with shows in Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Edmonton.
08/19/2017 Winnipeg, MB – Interstellar Rodeo
08/20/2017 Saskatoon, SK – TCU Place
08/22/2017 Edmonton, AB – Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Camp Wavelength
Despite high water levels preventing Camp Wavelength from happening at the Toronto Islands this year, the festival came up with a solution: They'll be hosting free daytime outdoor concert sessions, as well as nighttime shows at venues around the city, where you can catch sets from Deerhoof, Rich Aucoin, Dilly Dally, Jessy Lanza, Duchess Says and more.
08/18-20/2017 Toronto, ON – Various Venues
Guns N' Roses
Bust out your leather jacket, because the Sunset Strip's hottest band are back. After reforming most of their original lineup, Guns N' Roses have been on an extensive comeback tour that's seen its fair share of debauchery. Fans of the glam-metal band can see the band's wild show this week in Montreal and Ottawa, with Our Lady Peace opening both gigs.
08/19/2017 Montreal, QC – Parc Jean-Drapeau
08/21/2017 Ottawa, ON – TD Place Arena
Interstellar Rodeo Winnipeg
Toronto's Six Shooter Records have been putting on one of the best gatherings of Canadian and international folk, indie-rock and country artists for the past half-decade in the form of Interstellar Rodeo, and for this year's Winnipeg edition (it goes down in Edmonton, too), they've put together another great lineup. The organizers have wrangled performers such as Broken Social Scene, Beck, Father John Misty, Oh Susanna, Shakey Graves and more.
08/18-20/2017 Winnipeg, MB – The Forks
Mount Eerie
Phil Elverum delivered his latest musical offering as Mount Eerie, A Crow Looked at Me, earlier this year, and the sombre, minimalistic songs on the album are now being put to the test live. If you want to see Mount Eerie perform, catch him this week at Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver.
08/18/2017 Vancouver, BC – Christ Church Cathedral
Riverfest Elora
If you're in search of a small town getaway, Riverfest Elora combines beautiful scenery with fantastic live music, and provides plenty of outdoor activities and local art to check out between sets. This year's festival plays host to artists such as MGMT, Gogol Bordello, Monster Truck, Hollerado, the Dirty Nil, Mother Mother and a whole lot more.
08/18-20/2017 Elora, ON – Bissell Park
Top Dawg Entertainment signed R&B singer SZA back in 2011, and now they're reaping the rewards with her wildly successful debut studio record, CTRL. Fans of the singer will get a chance to see her show off those new songs live this week when she makes stops in Montreal and Toronto.
08/22/2017 Montreal, QC – Corona Theatre
08/23/2017 Toronto, ON – Rebel
2 Chainz
Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz has been hosting church services and providing free STD tests out of his pink trap house to promote his latest record Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, but that isn't keeping him from heading out on tour. You can see him live this week when he makes a stop at Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom before heading back across the border.
