Interpol's Paul Banks Dishes New Solo Album Details

Interpol's Paul Banks has come out with the details on his new solo project under alter ego Julian Plenti. We now know the record is called Julian Plenti Is... Skyscraper, it's due out August 4 via Matador, has the cover posted above and features guest contributors such as Ratatat's Mike Stroud, Interpol's Sam Fogarino and Charles Burst of the Occasion.

The press release goes on to explain Banks originally debuted his Plenti guise back in 1996, did a few shows in New York under the name and then did the whole sabbatical thing when Interpol started to take off in 2001. It also says Plenti doesn't need a band to help him make music because he has "acquired the music production software Logic Pro." Okay, it's not the most exciting back-story but whatever.

Banks is reportedly playing some shows in support of the new Plenti record, but the dates have yet to be announced. However, if you give up your email address over on the Julian Plenti website you can get a teaser track from the album, and there is a tracklisting.
