International Falls Announce Side Projects, Summer Shows

When they’re not remixing rap songs or releasing albums, Langley, BC-based indie rock crew International Falls like to busy themselves with other projects. As such, the band have recently announced their summer plans, and it looks like they’ll be busy bodies during the remaining hot months.

First up is the announcement that IF members Megan McDonald and Jay Arner have joined Tailor Island, a project involving Mohawk Lodge’s Kris Hooper and Kids These Days’ Peter Doig. The band, which have existed in various forms since 2005, will be recording this summer. We can also expect a new EP from International Falls, as well as some new material from their alter-egos, the Poison Dart.

Never ones to settle for conventions, the band have also added some of Jay Arner’s conceptual art to their online store. "These are not albums; they are Remax notepads with drawings of faces. Style ranges from unflattering to grotesque. Get in on this very good art idea.” They’ve also added a brand new remix of Usher’s "Love In This Club,” which can be downloaded here.

The band will also join Little Wings, Lucky Dragons, Mirah & Spectratone International, Kimya Dawson, Calvin Johnson, Karl Blau, Mount Eerie, Coconut Coolouts and many, many more at this year’s What the Heck Fest, running from July 18 to the 20.
