This July will mark two decades since In Flames released fifth studio album Clayman, and the Swedish outfit have been hinting at some special anniversary celebrations for what is widely considered a melodic death metal classic.
Earlier this week, In Flames shared a video teaser that announced, "After 20 years...the Clayman returns!"
The clip, found below, cuts together the album's title track, some studio snaps, and an updated illustration of the album's da Vinci-inspired artwork.
While the band are prepared to make a full reveal of anniversary plans tomorrow (June 5), fans are speculating online that the announcement will centre on a rerecording of the entire album.
Initially released through Nuclear Blast in 2000, Clayman was previously remastered for an expanded reissue in 2009.
The album was In Flames' last to lean heavily into the melodic death metal style also known as the "Gothenburg sound," before the band began adopting a more mainstream metal sound with 2002's Reroute to Remain.
