In Flames Return with 'Battles,' Premiere New Song

Two years after showing us their Siren Charms, Swedish metal force In Flames have announced their next full-length release. Suit up and strap on a sword, as the metal vets will deliver their Battles on November 11 via Eleven Seven Music Group/Nuclear Blast.

While the band unveiled their last album through a hacker-style publicity stunt, news of their 12th studio long-player arrived today (August 25) through an old-fashioned press release. It's explained that the new collection was cut in Los Angeles, with the outfit working alongside producer Howard Benson (Motörhead, Body Count, Sepultura).

"I think being in California really affected this album in the sense that we had a studio in the house that we were staying at and the vibe was really relaxed which lent itself to productivity," said vocalist Anders Fridén in a statement. "It really helped having a producer who could make us focus on what we needed to accomplish and keep us on track."

A full tracklisting has yet to appear, but the band have let loose a stream of the record's "The End." Of the tune, guitarist Björn Gelotte said that it doesn't have "a slash-your-wrists kind of vibe," adding that Battles is a much less darker affair than Siren Charms. Check out the song below.

A European trek has been scheduled for January, while North American tour dates are expected to take place later in 2017. You can see all the currently confirmed dates over here.
