Up-and-coming pop rockers Imaginary Cities have a knack for scoring sweet opening spots. Although they have been playing live for less than a year, the Winnipeg band have already performed alongside the likes of the Rural Alberta Advantage, Ra Ra Riot, the Weakerthans and the Besnard Lakes. Now, they've landed the coveted support slot on the Pixies' upcoming Canadian tour.
Imaginary Cities will be performing at ten of the Pixies' upcoming Canadian dates. The trek starts in Halifax, NS on April 9, moving on through New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario. However, Imaginary Cities won't be performing with the indie rock legends at their dates in Western Canada.
Before the Pixies' tour starts, Imaginary Cities will be playing a handful of shows in March. This includes appearances at SXSW in Texas and CMW in Toronto. The CMW show is yet another sweet opening gig, this time for Young Galaxy.
UPDATE: Imaginary Cities are now confirmed as the Pixies' openers for the entire run of North American dates.
