Back in the summer, Winnipeg newcomers Imaginary Cities released a free teaser EP, containing five tracks from an upcoming full-length. Since then, the group have released a three-song seven-inch and scored some high-profile opening slots. Now, the duo of singer Marti Sarbit and multi-instrumentalist Rusty Matyas are getting ready to release their debut LP.

Entitled Temporary Resident, the disc will be out on February 22 via Hidden Pony. It contains the single "Hummingbird," plus other tracks from the prior teaser EP. It was recorded with Cam Loeppky and Shawn Dealy at Prairie Recording Co. in Winnipeg.

If you go to Imaginary Cities' website, you can stream the three songs from the Hummingbird EP, two of which appear on Temporary Resident.

On Saturday (December 18), Imaginary Cities will open for the Weakerthans at Winnipeg's Burton Cummings Theatre. Matyas has previously been a member of the Weakerthans' live band.
