Iggy Pop has landed himself a new film role, and it will find him starring alongside Full House hero Bob Saget and Avatar's Joel David Moore.

The Stooges frontman will be starring in the upcoming film Blue Iguana, which is being directed by Canadian filmmaker Jeremy LaLonde (James vs. His Future Self), Deadline reports. Apparently, Pop will play the role of Edward, who's described as a wealthy patriarch whose — spoiler — death leads to a series of unfortunate events.

Blue Iguana will also feature Jason Jones, Carly Chaikin and Mary Lynn Rajskub, and it's the first under a multi-picture production deal between Canadian firm Productivity Media and Darius Films, and the Cayman Islands Film Commission, the Cayman's Ministry of International Trade, Investment, Aviation and Maritime Affairs and Dart Enterprises.

Of course, this is hardly Pop's first film role, as he's appeared in a ton of movies over the years, including a bunch by Jim Jarmusch.

A joint statement from Productivity CEO William G. Santor and Darius president Nicholas Tabarrok reads: "We are beyond ecstatic to have the legendary Iggy Pop join the cast of Blue Iguana. While purely coincidental to his casting, his name is derived from the word iguana so it couldn't be more fitting that Iggy joins our already stellar cast. We can't wait to work with him in the beautiful Cayman Islands."

So far, it's unclear when Blue Iguana may see release.
