I Walk The Line

Badlands

Finnish group I Walk the Line is a punk band of the more light-hearted variety. When any given range of punk bands can sound like the same band on different days, in order to keep the spirit animate, it helps to add atypical elements. This is where their organ really shines. They have enough bile in them to charm you, but there are instances that are almost, dare I say, pretty. Their overall sound is, for the most part, remorseless and energetic, and the vocals have their fair share of snarl, which the Finnish accent really enhances. If you listen closely you might be able to detect some ’60s influences, as well as a bit of Queen and the Pogues. As the album progresses, they start to sound more and more like a poppy psychedelic band that has been hijacked by the Dead Boys.
