Though they're signed to Skrillex's OWSLA imprint, Hundred Waters are the furthest thing from a bro'ed-out dubstep band. So much so that, when they prepare a remix EP, the indie pop artists work with some avant-garde auteurs.
The group have recently put the finishing touches on a remix EP surrounding "Down From the Rafters," a single from their album The Moon Rang Like a Bell. Rather than let their label boss up the wubs and drop the bass, they've enlisted the help of Tim Hecker, the Field and Huxley.
The EP will arrive on October 16 via OWSLA. Rather than wait that long, however, you can stream the Field's droning, seven-minute take on the track below.
Hundred Waters have also been enlisted as openers for the decidedly not-dubstep post-punk of Interpol. The two bands will tour together this fall, with Canadian stops scheduled in Toronto and Montreal.
