Human Highway Announce First Ever Canadian Dates

Following the recent release of their debut full-length Moody Motorcycle, super duo Human Highway have announced their first-ever Canadian live dates. This December, the new project fronted by Islands’ Nick Thorburn and Jim Guthrie (also of Royal City/Playstation fame) will hit up a handful of East coast towns, including Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Guelph.

And in a way, it only makes sense that Human Highway are now hitting the road; after all, that’s where the band was conceived. "For me, Human Highway started in a hotel room on a U.S. tour with Islands,” Guthrie said in a statement. "Nick had this rad song called 'My Beach' and asked me if I wanted to help him record it. He played and sang at the same time and let me be for a bit to do harmonies.”

Being the side project that it is, Human Highway haven’t confirmed if they will continue with the project after the tour but, as Guthrie recently told Exclaim!, they haven’t ruled it out either. "I think we’ll do it again,” Guthrie said. "It would be a bit of a similar thing or we won’t plan it too much.

"I like things to be a bit more spontaneous, or I don’t like things to look like they’re too laid out for me. I get depressed when I feel like it’s, ‘We’ll do a record, then we’ll do a tour.’ We’re keeping it really loose and up in the air and I like it like that.”

Here are Human Highway’s upcoming tour dates:

12/14 Ottawa, ON - Mavericks
12/15 Montreal, QC - Il Motore
12/16 Toronto, ON - Tranzac Club
12/17 Guelph, ON - E-Bar. 41
