Hudson Mohawke Returns with 'Satin Panthers' EP

If Glaswegian electronic artist Hudson Mohawke thrilled you with 2009's Butter -- a set we called a "daring calling card" to the producer's varied blend of dubstep, R&B, neo-crunk and more -- prepare yourself for the artist's next genre-splicing EP, Satin Panthers.

A press release from his label, Warp, explains that the artist "casts just as wide a net" on the new five-song collection, while also coming up with his "most direct and dizzyingly huge melodies to date." You can sample the synth-heavy, glitched-out crunk & B number "Thunder Bay" below.

Hudson Mohawke has clearly made a name for himself over the years, picking up some impressive fans along the way. Just check out what celebrated hip-hop producer Just Blaze (Jay-Z, T.I., Eminem) had to say about the UK artist on his Twitter feed.

"I AM LISTENING TO NEW @MOANHAWKE AND ALMOST JUST GOT MOVED TO TEARS. WOW. THESE ARE THE CHORDS I HEAR IN DREAMS THAT I FORGET WHEN I WAKE," he posted. "YO I AM JUMPING AROUND MY HOUSE BANGING ON WALLS AND STOMPING LISTENING TO THESE BEATS WTF."

Satin Panthers comes out August 2 in North America, and a day earlier across the pond.
