We don't know much about Journals or who exactly is behind the Vancouver-based electronic project, but the artist's debut release is a promising taste of what he or she has in store.
Visions/Dreams is billed as an EP, but it's more likely to be considered a single since it only contains two tracks. "Visions" begins with cosmically meditative synth twinkles before an electronic kick drum anchors the rhythm and pushes the track towards a danceable groove. "Dreams" features a similar palette of sounds, and there's an undercurrent of chiptune to the rapid fire blips and bleeps (which would sound fantastic as a the soundtrack of an outer space-themed videogame).
