How to Dress Well Announces North American Dates, Nabs Babe Rainbow, Aaron Read as Live Backing Band

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 3, 2012

Brooklyn R&B lover How to Dress Well (aka Tom Krell) has yet to give us the full details on his follow-up to 2011's orchestral Just Once EP, but he'll soon be unveiling his new tunes on tour this summer. And what's more, he's bringing West Coast pals Babe Rainbow and Aaron Read out onstage to help him play his new bedroom jams.

A Facebook post from Babe Rainbow (aka Cam Reed) explains that he and fellow Vancouverite Read have linked up with Krell to deliver the goods at clubs on both sides of the continent. While Babe Rainbow will also flex his murky electro skills as the tour's opening act, it looks like lo-fi popsmith Read won't provide any originals of his own.

"We've been working really hard for the last month or so and we're super excited to start playing live," Reed wrote. "We'll be out east and down the west coast, as well. Babe Rainbow will be opening most of these dates. Hope to see you all there."

A few gig details have popped up, including a Canadian stops in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, but more dates will likely arrive shortly.

As for How to Dress Well's next record, Krell had said that it's "a testament to the power of naive sentiment, the importance of vulnerable wistfulness, and to the rarity of bliss."

"This next album is about opening my heart, opening myself, to receive an address from myself I've been waiting for, for too long."
