Hour of the Wolf

Power of the Wolf

Published Aug 1, 2006

In keeping with the trend of intelligently abrasive punk rockers that have found a means to incorporate the infectious melody and bounce of SoCal pop punk into a decidedly passionate hardcore foundation, Hour of the Wolf deliver eight thrusting tracks of provocative and poignant punk rock that perfectly propels the ever-problematic pendulum pitch between political and personal expression. In essence, Hour of the Wolf keep solid company with the likes of New Mexican Disaster Squad, Dillinger Four et al, while still affecting enough influence from friends just outside that fold such as AFI to keep things fresh and moderately unique. The end result is an album that successfully slips bleak undertones into something overtly positive. It’s a dichotomy that proves there is some degree of good that can come out of the sting life brings to us all. Strong and sincere, heartfelt and hot headed, Power of the Wolf feels as boundless as it does bountiful.
