Published May 30, 2012Hot as Sun aren't Canadian -- they actually hail from L.A. -- but the band have gotten some love here in our country in the form of a deal with Last Gang Records and a remix from Tokyo Police Club. This new remix will appear on the Hot as Sun's self-titled EP, due out June 19.
A press release notes that Hot as Sun formed around the core duo of singer Jamie Jackson and lyricist/visual artist Deborah Stoll, who apparently found common ground in a "love of weird sounds, magic houses, Pegasus and bacon." The songs were written on omnichord by Jackson, and Stoll helped to create accompanying videos and projections for live gigs.
Tokyo Police Club remixed the band's new single "Come Come," which arrived yesterday (May 29). Both the original track and the remix appear on Hot as Sun. Scroll past the EP tracklist to hear the remix at the bottom of this page. Below that, hear the EP without the remixes, which originally came out on Bandcamp in 2010.
The band are reportedly in the studio working on their debut full-length for a fall release, so expect to hear a whole lot more out of Hot as Sun soon.
