An Horse Unveil Sophomore Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 18, 2011

Back in 2009, we wrote that Aussie duo An Horse "have really started to turn heads." The Brisbane twosome of Kate Cooper (guitar/vocals) and Damon Cox (drums) still haven't achieved the same popularity as many of their indie rock peers, but that may change with the release of their sophomore LP, Walls.

The album is due out on April 26 via Mom+Pop/Fontana North. Mom+Pop previously helped catapult Sleigh Bells to indie stardom and released An Horse's first album, Rearrange Beds.

Although An Horse is based in a different hemisphere, Walls is of special interest to Canadian music fans. It was recorded in Vancouver with beloved local producer Howard Redekopp, who has previously lent his production talents to You Say Party, Tegan and Sara, Mother Mother and many more.

For a taste of what's in store, go to the bottom of this page to hear the album cuts "Trains and Tracks" and "Dressed Sharply." Scroll past those to see in-studio footage of An Horse recording Walls.

You can also pre-order the album over at the band's official website. There are a variety of deluxe packages available, including versions with An Horses pillowcases, signed posters and more.

To promote the release, An Horse will embark on a massive North American tour. This includes an album release show at the Knitting Factory in New York on April 26. The performance will be broadcast on LiveStream.com. They will also play a Canadian show on May 16 at Toronto's Mod Club. See their tour schedule here.
