We've been anxiously awaiting the new release from Californian nintendocore spazzes Horse the Band because it feels like forever since 2007's A Natural Death.

Well, details about some fresh tunes have finally been released. Their fourth album is called Desperate Living and it'll hit stores on October 6. The album's 12 tracks were recorded at White Buffalo Studios in Los Angeles with producer Noah Shain.

It's also their debut effort for Vagrant Records, a pairing that we mentioned back in February. Not that it should alter their sound but sometimes a new relationship can be inspiring.

The band have also enlisted quite the roster of talent to bolster Desperate Living. Classical pianist Valentina Lisitsa, Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart, underground rapper K-Slax, triangle player Ed Edge and the Number 12 Looks Like You drummer Jon Karel have all lent their talents to the affair.

Horse the Band are currently comprised of vocalist Nathan Winneke, guitarist David Isen, synthesizer/LSDJ Erik Engstrom and drummer Daniel Pouliot.
