Though his Cat's Eyes side-project has likely been sucking up a lot of his time as of late, the Horrors frontman Faris Badwan has promised his new band's schedule won't interfere too much with his full-time gig. Though Cat's Eyes will be getting a big push this year, between releasing their Broken Eyes EP on February 28 and their self-titled full-length this May, the singer insists there will be a new Horrors record come summertime.
A thread on the group's official forum titled "Re: Album delayed?" found Badwan dishing some dirt as to when fans can expect the Horrors to follow up their 2009 psych pop-tinged sophomore set, Primary Colours. Truthfully, he didn't offer up too many details, such as an album title or tracklisting, but his one-word post summed up, roughly, when the disc will drop. "JULY," he wrote.
More details, we assume, will pop up sooner or later, but in the meantime, get your all-black outfits pressed and ready for July, Horrors fans, because this summer's going to be a gloomy one.
Thanks to NME for the tip.
