The Horrors' Faris Badwan Promises More Cat's Eyes Music, Two New Albums in 2012

Faris Badwan is a busy man. Between releasing acclaimed LPs with the Horrors, producing the occasional single and exhibiting his hand-drawn artwork, the singer manages to find time to team up with Canadian soprano Rachel Zeffira to form the Vatican-certified Cat's Eyes.

Created out of a shared love for '60s girl groups and, presumably, moody atmospherics, Cat's Eyes has released an EP of curios and last year's solid self-titled debut. But according to Badwan, new music is already on the way.

"Rachel's doing a solo record, but, yeah, I want to do another Cat's Eyes album, probably early next year," the singer recently told Exclaim!

While still touring the Horrors' latest -- the movement-obsessed Skying -- Badwan has already begun working on fresh tracks.

"I've been writing songs and recording for the last couple of weeks," he explains, "They might be Cat's Eyes songs or they could end up Horrors' songs. I never know, I just write and see what happens."

Whatever does happen, Badwan promises new tracks are forthcoming soon and regularly.

"I definitely want to release two more records next year, that's my goal," he insists.

For now, Skying is out on XL Recordings. The Horrors are also gearing up for a North American tour, which kicks off in Vancouver tonight (September 7). Other Canadian dates include Toronto on September 27 and Montreal on September 28. You can view the entire schedule here.
