UK psych troupe the Horrors have had to cancel their upcoming North American tour, as well as all European dates, in support of their recent, Exclaim!-favourited Luminous LP over "circumstances beyond our control."
News of the axed fall dates came through the band's Twitter and Facebook pages today (July 25). While the specifics are slim, the outfit confirmed that they've been forced to reschedule the North American trip, which was due to begin in October, until sometime later in 2015.
While the band refer to the axed dates as being in the U.S., it can safely be assumed that this affects scheduled Canadian shows in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. Exclaim! has reached out to the Horrors camp for confirmation, and we'll keep you posted.
UPDATE: The band's publicist has now confirmed that the Canadian dates are indeed cancelled.
UPDATE 2: The Horrors have now issued another update, stating that several of their North American shows, including their Vancouver date, are still going ahead. All the other North American dates have been postponed for now, with make-up shows to be announced in the future. They will also stick to their European tour commitments.
"Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to reshuffle our US and European tours at the end of this year," the band wrote, adding, "We can only apologise to anyone who already has tickets to the dates affected — we hate cancelling shows but this situation was unavoidable."
While an updated itinerary has yet to appear, the band added that they'll "make sure [to] return to all the places we missed on this run."
