The Honey Jam sisterhood are gearing up to build on the recent momentum from their women in hip-hop celebration and Union Summer showcase, unveiling the details for their 28th annual emerging artists concert, set to take over TD Music Hall at 8 p.m. on August 17.

Honey Jam is also promising a livestream of the event for those unable to attend the in-person shows.

This year's lineup of 18 emerging artists includes young women hailing from Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, B.C. and P.E.I.

CBC Music's Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe is slated to host the event, which will feature performances from each Honey Jam artist as well as two special segments.

A group of Honey Jam alums will take the stage for one of the special segments in tribute to Tina Turner, while the other segment will be a rap cypher to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.

Honey Jam stalwart DJ Melboogie will host the cypher as one of this year's artists, Tia Bank$, goes toe-to-toe with Canadian hip-hop veterans, including Jelly Too Fly and Eterina.

Tickets for the showcase cost $25 and are available here. For more information on the performing artists, livestream and showcase, check out Honey Jam's official website.
