Holy Hum Teams Up with You Say Party's Stephen O'Shea for New EP, Shares Video

Vancouver artist Andrew Lee currently keeps busy with his ambient post-rock project Holy Hum. While that work often sees him working alone, he's since opened the door to more collaborative efforts. First up, he's joined forces with You Say Party member Stephen Carl O'Shea to create a collaborative EP.

Called Midnight Music, the four-song release is the result of a long-running friendship between the two artists, who previously crossed paths when O'Shea was active with You Say Party and Lee was fronting the rock band In Medias Res. Their collaboration is described as "an exploration of the process through friendship and mutual respect for one another."

According to a press write-up, the pair's recording sessions "drew on the strengths they brought to their main projects. With Midnight Music the ambience and ephemeral elements of mood are combined with fuzzed out, lo fi and dancy rhythm."

Midnight Music can be streamed in full below. You'll also find a 360-degree video for EP track "Unpana" directed by Mike Gittens.

The EP will be officially released on a limited cassette on December 15 via Heavy Lark, Andrew Lee's new record label. Lee explains that the imprint is more of a "project space" as he hopes to eventually expand into publishing books and art prints in addition to music.
