As part of Exclaim!'s 25th Anniversary celebrations, we've teamed up with the annual Class of 2017 concert series and handpicked five up and coming Ontario-based bands to showcase their stuff heading into the New Year. Known for their energetic performance gimmicks, New Swears is a four-piece punk rock band who are just about ready to party as soon as they plug in. Toronto alt-rock band Detours will also be joining the class, while four-piece indie-poppers the Kents will have you dancing along to their punchy guitar hooks. Finally, your opportunity to head-bang will arrive with psychedelic-infused garage rockers Crazy Bones and Possum also hitting the stage.

Holy Fuck

Straying from their frequent Toronto home base Lee's Palace, the adrenaline-infused electronic rockers will be playing Victoria this week. With multiple award nominations under their belt, and having played festivals like Osheaga, Coachella, Lollapalooza and Field Trip — where they performed a "danceable cacophony" — this is a show you won't want to miss. Expect particularly punchy and danceable tracks off their latest album, Congrats.
