Hollerado Announce Canada/U.S. Tour with Free Energy, Pull Off "Human 8-bit" Magic in New Video
Wacky Canadian indie quartet Hollerado have managed to do what few bands are able to: live up to the hype of their press releases and make their own brand of hot sauce. They've now announced a fall tour with Philly buzz rockers Free Energy and have released a new video described as a "human 8-bit" experiment.

The joint dates with Free Energy begin in Portland, ME on October 12. Along with several U.S. dates, the tour will feature Canadian stops in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.

Hollerado also have a new video out for the single, "Americanarama," which is chock full of visual trickery and comes from their 2010 record Record in a Bag. The awesome low-budget video sets the bar for bands new and old in the "innovative music video" department. Shot all in one take, it features 420 memorized sequences and 24 choreographed stage hands who do card stunts.

In order for everyone in the video to hit their cues, director Greg Jardin slowed down the song 400 percent and shot each take in about 13 and a half minutes. As the press release says, what we get is a "jittery, spastically comedic result" that complements the band's "lo-fi, handmade aesthetic."

Watch the sure-to-be-viral video for "Americanarama" below. Look for Record in a Bag out now on Royal Mountain Records.
