HMV Offers Trade In On Old DVDs

Looking to get rid of your old first generation DVDs? Y'know, the ones that offer subtitles and widescreen as the special features? Well, during the entire month of May, HMV stores throughout Canada will be hosting an exchange of used DVDs for discounts on specially marked Blu-ray discs from 20th Century Fox and MGM Home Entertainment. Called "Go Green with Blu," the campaign ensures that old DVDs are safely recycled and that high quality used DVDs are donated to children's hospitals and local libraries.

DVDs can be traded in for a $7 discount on the purchase of a 20th Century Fox or MGM Blu-ray disc, with almost 250 titles to choose from.

HMV is also expanding the campaign with day-long 10/10/10 incentives that are promoted through the Twitter ID FoxMGMBlurayCan. On certain days customers that exchange ten of their old DVDs and purchase ten Blu-ray discs will receive a $10 HMV gift card in addition to the $7 discount.
