Hives Tour With Chart Toppers, Make Little Progress On New Album

BY Cam LindsayPublished Jul 9, 2007

The Hives have announced two Canadian dates in the fall... with Maroon 5. No joke! The Swedish garage sensations (remember how great 2001 was?) will join the modern age's Hall & Oates (or is that Wang Chung) for a North American jaunt in October and November. The two dates so far are Toronto's Air Canada Centre on October 4 and Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum on November 3.

As for an update on the Hives' productivity as of late, well, there was that rather unimpressive contribution ("Throw It On Me") to Timbaland's Shock Value, and Pitchfork recently announced the band have also worked on the new Raconteurs album. However, in following up 2004's underrated Tyrannosaurus Hives, the band have posted various blogs commenting on their progress. On June 25th Chris "The Boss" Dangerous announced: "So, we just got of the plane and are now back in our studio in Sthlm to work some more on (what will be) your favourite record. (It will NOT be named "The worlds first perfect record")."
