History On My Arms With Dee Dee Ramone Lech Kowalski
A few years ago, Lech Kowalski released the documentary (term used loosely) Hey, Is Dee Dee Home?, a film that claimed to be a verbal account of the former Ramones bassist's life in his words. What it wound up as though was little more than Dee Dee babbling randomly about his drug addiction and the ties it brought to Johnny Thunders. Scattered and boring, it was a poor epitaph for one of music's finest. Flogging that dead horse even more, History On My Arms is basically another crack at the same footage, virtually unedited and untreated. It's in fact, even more yawn-inducing and pointless, offering nothing new. Fleshed-out with another account of Dee Dee's relationship with the Thunders crew via former drummer Vom Ritchie and a CD of Dee Dee smashing "blues" out of his guitar, History On My Arms is nothing but gold-digging at its most sordid and obvious.
