His Electro Blue Voice

'Ruthless Sperm' (album stream)

As previously reported, Italian post-punk outfit His Electro Blue Voice are set to issue their Sub Pop debut Ruthless Sperm on August 20, but you can stream the whole of the frankly frightening LP ahead of the street date now, courtesy of Exclaim.ca.

Ruthless Sperm follows a handful of singles for Sacred Bones, Brave Mysteries and Bat Shit Records and the band's appearance on the Sub Pop 1000 compilation, and a press release for the set promises that the self-produced album features "30-plus minutes of shock-horror blasts, blaring cyber-synth attacks and that gloriously repetitive Stoogeoid-meets-Killing Joke throb."

While that's an apt description, for sure, tracks like the demonic and discordant "Death Climb" and the ghoulish goth boogie "Spit Dirt" also conjure the gloomy post-hardcore sound of the VSS's Nervous Circuits.
