Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Band

"Mad Lifeline" (3D remix)

In addition to fronting TV on the Radio, Tunde Adebimpe has a project called Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Band, and now that outfit have had one of their songs remixed by 3D of Massive Attack.

This remix of "Mad Lifeline" tightens up the original track's sprawling arrangement, which consisted of nearly eight minutes of crooning, shapeshifting noodling and casual whistling. The new version condenses it down to five minutes, anchoring the eclectic arrangement with a clip-clopping electronic groove.

In a statement, 3D said, "I constantly stalk Tunde with instrumentals! In revenge he sent me the Higgins album and I picked two tracks that I thought would be fun to remix. Now that's sorted, I'll get back to harassing him with loops."

This project is dubbed Higgins in 3D. This remix appears on a 12-inch along with another remix by 3D for the song "WPIC." It's available to buy through Battle Box/The Vinyl Factory.
