Our Noise

BY I. KhiderPublished Jun 1, 2002

Clever IDM breaksters go for pop sensibility with a bit of electro seasoning and Our Noise is the result. Our Noise is a very upbeat electro album that bounces between catchy electro pop, Mouse on Mars-esque noodling and pop rock. The latter is exemplified on the track "Blue Flower," where guest vocalist Ariane Hansil sings ballads in a very cute, rather childishly innocent voice to power chords and beats. Hansil's voice also appears on the explosive Roman Candle-like tune "Wonder," where she repeats the title phrase to steady driving beats and synthesiser sweeps. This album radiates a very happy mood throughout and I would call it the musical equivalent of prozac; perhaps the doctors ought to prescribe a listen to this album instead.Clever IDM breaksters go for pop sensibility with a bit of electro seasoning and Our Noise is the result.
