Here We Go Magic Return with 'Be Small'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 23, 2015

Big news from the Here We Go Magic camp: the band have a new album called Be Small landing this fall. The indie rock outfit's latest group of songs materializes into retailers October 16 through Secretly Canadian.

A press release notes that Here We Go Magic have taken a different approach than with their expansive 2012 set A Different Ship , which had been produced by Nigel Godrich. It's explained that the band chose to make Be Small a more intimate affair, while still offering up "robust future pop" and deep grooves.

The band's Luke Temple described the 11-song Be Small as showcasing "overtly major and optimistic" songs, with elements of prog-rock and sound collages helping shape the LP as well. Sonic touchstones are said to include Brian Eno and John Cale's Wrong Way Up and Robert Wyatt's Shleep.

You can sample first single "Falling" in a newly premiered video, which you can find down below. There, you'll also discover the tracklisting info and Here We Go Magic's upcoming tour plans. Following a few summer dates in Europe, they'll spend October and November hitting the North American club circuit. Canadian shows have been booked in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
