Taylor Swift will return with surprise new album folklore tonight, which features album art showing the megastar at peace in a forest amongst towering trees. Whether it be Swift's misty surroundings or the grey tones that dominate the cover, it didn't take long for the internet to seize upon its potential to be reworked into a metal masterpiece.
Shot by Beth Garrabrant, the artwork of folklore has already been likened to a Sargent House release, and a black or folk metal LP. While the inclusion of the National's Aaron Dessner and Bon Iver doesn't indicate Swift's adoption of those particular sounds, songs like "the lakes," "my tears ricochet," "hoax," "this is me trying" and "the last great american dynasty" will surely exhibit a heaviness all their own.
