Portland popsmiths the Helio Sequence recently announced Negotiations, their first full-length in four years. At the time, the troupe had shared some North American tour dates, but none of them took place in the Great White North. A newly announced spread of shows, however, will find the outfit traversing the U.S./Canada border later this fall.
The Canadian shows will take place October 18 at Halifax's St. Matthews Church, November 12 at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern and the next night at Montreal's Il Motore. Joining the band for the bulk of the November dates are fellow Portlandians Ramona Falls. Along with the added U.S. shows, the tour has the band tackling Europe in September.
Last month, the Helio Sequence teased Negotiations with the almost Coldplay-esque "October," and the band have now premiered another new number called "Hall of Mirrors," which you can download here via Rolling Stone.
In other news, if you pre-order Negotiations via Sub Pop, which releases the album September 11, you'll also be able to nab yourself a quadraphonic companion piece called Aces. The bonus CD is meant to be played alongside Negotiations on "two different stereo systems to create an enhanced spatial experience."
