The Heavy Book North American Tour, Share Video in Support of 'The Glorious Dead' LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 13, 2012

The Heavy have gotten a massive boost of publicity in the last couple of years thanks to their song "How Do You Like Me Now?" being used to soundtrack numerous films and TV shows. Now that they've got the music world's attention, the British soul-rockers are preparing to release their third LP. Entitled The Glorious Dead, it will be out in North America on August 21 via Counter Records/Ninja Tune.

According to a press release, this self-produced collection keeps the band's "unique, raw eclecticism fully intact" and blends "soul, hip hop, rock, blues and funk into glorious, raucous party music that is equally full of heart."

To sample what the band have cooked up, check out the video for "What Makes a Good Man?" at the bottom of the page. With its gospel-style harmonies and blaring brass, it sounds a bit like the Black Keys backed by room full of Motown session musicians.

The band have a North American tour on the horizon. See the schedule below the tracklist, and pre-order the new album here.
