Top 40 hit-churner-outers OneRepublic have ditched their own brand of unremarkable pop-rock to cover a Britpop classic. The Ryan Tedder-fronted group have released a new rendition of Oasis' What's the Story (Morning Glory)? jam "Champagne Supernova."
The new take comes from Spotify's London edition of Music Happens Here, as it was recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios.
In a teaser clip for the series, Tedder explains his decision to rework the song. "I was an Anglophile; the only Anglophile amongst my friends when I was 13, 14," he says. "'Champagne Supernova' is like a once-in-a-lifetime record. It's just a classic."
