Published Jun 03, 2010According to Vivian Girls' list of past shows, the Brooklyn fuzz pop trio have rarely gone for longer than a couple of weeks without a gig in the past two years. Still, bassist Kickball Katy somehow found the time to embark upon a solo project with Cat Power player Gregg Foreman. They duo have called themselves All Saints Day and you can listen to their self-titled debut EP right now on Bandcamp.
The collection sounds a lot closer to Vivian Girls than Cat Power, with blissful girl group melodies paired with waves of fuzz and muddy, lo-fi production. Currently only the opening track, "It'll Come Around," is available to download, so you'll have to satisfy yourself with a stream of the other three songs. The website says that the full collection will be released on Sunday (June 6).
All Saints Day currently have three shows booked, all in California in mid-June. This includes including two dates with New Jersey beach pop outfit Real Estate. In July, Katy will be heading across the Atlantic with Vivian Girls to play a series of European shows. According to Gorilla vs. Bear, "It'll Come Around" ill be release as a seven-inch on Art Fag in the near future, with the B-side "Only Time Will Tell." The band may have some test pressings at their upcoming tour stops.
