Hear Elton John Interview Father John Misty About the Process Behind 'Pure Comedy'

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 21, 2017

Father John Misty (a.k.a. Josh Tillman) is nearly ready to release his latest studio album Pure Comedy, but ahead of its release next month, the singer sat down to discuss the new LP with none other than Tech N9ne-loving piano man Elton John.

Tillman appeared as a guest on last night's (March 20) episode of the John-hosted "Rocket Hour" on Beats 1 and opened up about the process behind Pure Comedy — one that both musicians agree tends to favour "space" over the "Pro Tools Frankenstein" experiments of Father John Misty's previous records. From there, they also go on to discuss the merits of analog recording.
