BY Brock ThiessenPublished Jul 13, 2017

Late last year, news emerged that Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard would be covering Teenage Fanclub's 1991 classic Bandwagonesque in its entirety. Now we finally are getting to hear a bit of the ambitious covers project.

Today (July 13) Gibbard shared a mammoth cover of the already-mammoth Bandwagonesque favourite "The Concept," and you can hear the reinterpretation below via NPR.

"Bandwagonesque is my favourite record by my favourite band of all time," Gibbard previously said in a statement. "It came along at a pivotal time in my musical life and I've loved it for over 25 years. It's been such a blast taking these songs apart to see how they work and then putting them back together again."

Gibbard's cover album will arrive as part of Turntable Kitchen's Sounds Delicious subscription service on July 28. For now, hear "The Concept" cover below.
