Canadian emo kids are rejoicing at the chance to see Brand New on their upcoming tour, but before they hit the road, frontman Jesse Lacey has delivered a solo take on a college rock classic.
Lacey has shared his own rendition of R.E.M.'s "Bad Day" for a special singles series helmed by Kevin Devine. Lacey's contribution marks the final release in the series, and the flip-side features Devine's version of "Imitation of Life." Both artists settled on the song choice due to Michael Stipe and co.'s "huge influence" on their personal and professional lives.
Before you try to get your hands on a copy, hear Lacey maintain his pessimistic public persona by putting his own spin on "Bad Day" below. The split 7-inch will arrive on March 25 through Bad Timing Records, and is available to pre-order here.
